Responsible event management

Sustainability in event operations

We see sustainability as a necessity.

Within the scope of our financial and operational capabilities, we take environmental and sustainability considerations into account, for example when making new purchases, carrying out repairs, and managing resources. We explore ways to reduce the use of materials and energy and to reuse materials wherever possible.

We also aim to provide event organizers and visitors with practical ways to contribute – for example through waste separation and reduction, using the Kombiticket to travel to and from the venue by bus and train, or choosing regional products and services.

Further information about the specific measures we have implemented can be found here:

Green electricity

We source 100% of our electricity from renewable energy sources. By using energy-efficient event technology, a solar PV system and time-controlled building systems, we implement measures to reduce energy consumption.

Accessibility

Accessible parking spaces, accessible restrooms, designated wheelchair spaces, and elevators make it easier for guests with disabilities to enjoy their visit to our venue Eintracht-Stadion.

Mobility

The Eintracht-Stadion is easily accessible by public transport. For events marked accordingly, you can use the Kombiticket for travel to and from the venue by bus and train.

Water conservation

A rainwater harvesting system in the north stand allows us to use rainwater to irrigate the main pitch, thereby reducing our consumption of drinking water.

Diversity

As a signatory to the "Charta der Vielfalt", we demonstrate our commitment to diversity and promote an inclusive, prejudice-free working environment and culture.

Catering

Our caterer, Aramark (responsible for the business and hospitality box areas), follows its own sustainability strategy. According to the company, regional and seasonal sourcing and the reduction of environmental impacts are among the key principles it takes into account.

Solar PV system

The photovoltaic system installed and commissioned by Energiegenossenschaft Braunschweiger Land eG on the roof of the north stand generates electricity that can be used directly at the Eintracht-Stadion. The aim is to use around 80% of the electricity generated on site for stadium operations, events, and the offices in the building.

Trained staff

The employees of our company have received a training on sustainability topics related to event operations. The knowledge gained helps us incorporate environmental and sustainability considerations into our operational processes.

Sun protection

Behind the blue and yellow slats of the west stand is an automated solar shading system that adjusts according to the position of the sun, helping to reduce the temperature inside the building.

The German Umweltbundesamt provides event organizers with a CO₂ calculator that allows you to calculate the CO₂ emissions generated by your event. Based on these results, you can develop measures for future events – for example with the help of our Sustainability Checklist – that can help reduce CO₂ emissions.
